Chargrilled treviso with white wine and honey dressing

  • 2 tbs dry white wine
  • 1 1/2 tbs fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbs chopped chives
  • 1 treviso lettuce, trimmed, base intact
  • Shaved parmesan, to serve


  1. Whisk the wine, lemon juice and honey in a small bowl until well combined. Gradually add the oil in a thin, steady stream, whisking until combined. Whisk in the chives. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Use a sharp knife to cut the treviso into quarters lengthways.
  3. Preheat a barbecue grill or chargrill over medium-high heat. Brush with olive oil. Cook the treviso on grill, cut-side down, turning occasionally, for 2 minutes or until slightly wilted.
  4. Transfer the treviso to a serving platter and sprinkle with the parmesan. Drizzle over the white wine & honey dressing to serve.
